While attending college in the United States and India, Dr. Bhagwandass received several awards and special recognitions. He graduated first class all 4 years while in India, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University, and receiving the Dentistry Award for Removable, Partial, and Full Dentures. He was inducted into the Omircon Kappa Upsilon society and also serves on the advisory board for Halifax Community College’s Dental Hygiene School which he helped start. From January 2008 to December 2016 he also served on the Halifax County Health Board.

Professional Memberships

Dr. Bhagwandass is a proud lifetime member of the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Recently, he earned his fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) which represents his commitment to lifelong education in order to ensure delivery of the highest quality dental care to his patients.

Life & Hobbies

Dr. Bhagwandass was born and raised in South Africa. He later moved to India, where he met his wife while the two of them were studying in Manipal. His wife, Dr. Sheila Bhagwandass, served the Roanoke community as a pediatrician for over 30 years, recently retired from the practice she owned. Prior to residing in Roanoke, he lived in Boston, the town where he earned his degree! In his free time, he enjoys gardening, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He and his wife have six grandchildren, all of whom give them great joy!
